Community CPR & First Aid
The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only™ CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment by using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible. Family & Friends® programs are intended for members of the general public who would like to learn basic CPR, including: families with children or elderly relatives college-dorm resident assistants athletes or wilderness explorers members of volunteer organizations residents of rural areas or locations prone to natural disasters These programs are noncredentialed — no course card will be awarded upon completion. Anyone required by his or her employer or wishing to be credentialed as a lay responder should take a Heartsaver ® course.
